Why do we invest so heavily in the Community?

“What you’ve done for the community beats most of the big real estate brands in East Auckland.”
— A recent client

That one line stopped me in my tracks. Because they’re right.

Our community involvement isn’t something we shout about every day. It’s not just a marketing tool or a checklist to tick. So, if we’re not a charity… why do we keep investing so heavily in the community?

The answer is simple:
Our business thrives because of local support. So it makes sense to invest back into the very people who have helped us grow.

It’s our way of saying thank you.

It Started with a BBQ on a Roadside

Back in 2021, we hosted our very first Community BBQ in Highland Park. About 20 people turned up, and we were squeezed onto a busy roadside, but it was a start. Since then, we’ve grown it every year. In 2024, we officially renamed it the Howick Family Fun Day, attracting hundreds of people with bouncy castles, Jaye’s Dance performances, Saint Kentigern’s band, raffle prizes, sack races, Mr Whippy, and more.

More importantly, we raised over $1,000 for the Howick Children’s Charitable Trust, which organises the much-loved Howick Santa Parade.

It Goes Beyond Real Estate

We’ve extended our hand to support youth, schools, sports, arts, and healthcare.

Here are just a few highlights:

  • Neverland Studios & Jaye’s Dance – We’ve funded studio signage, term fees, and travel to the World Hip Hop Dance Championship in Arizona, enabling talented East Auckland dancers to compete on global stages.

  • Macleans College Hockey 1st XI – We helped sponsor their uniforms and travel to Australia.

  • Kairos Dance Convention & Matthew McCutcheon Motorsport – From dance to driving, we’re investing in young East Auckland talent chasing big dreams.

  • Melanoma NZ – We joined forces with colleagues across Bayleys residential, commercial, and business sales divisions for the Carters Charity Golf Day, raising funds for melanoma awareness and early detection.

It's Also About Visibility for Others

Through LLTV (Lawrence Liew TV), we shine a light on East Auckland businesses; from lawyers and lenders to builders and hospitality owners.

So, Why Do We Do It?

We’ve built a strong business here not by luck, but because people trust us. Supporting the community isn’t a sideline—it’s a reflection of that trust. If we’re doing well, it’s only fair that we use that success to elevate others.
